Further Information:
"Dance of the angels" is a homage in Franz Liszt's organ piece "Prelude and Fugue on the Theme B.A.C.H.." It was written in 2011 to the 200th anniversery of death of this famous composer. The specific feature of this organ work is that this piece can be performed with a Choralschola added: the Easter sequence "Victimae paschali laudes" is completely embedded in the organ part written in Latin. A performance would make sense in the Easter period, quite special at the Easter Resurrection celebration. This organ piece technically challenging for the organ players unites the following musical information to an appealing "collage": - the motive B.A.C.H. - formative suggestions from Franz Liszt's organ work "Prelude and Fugue on the Theme B.A.C.H." - Sequenz: "Victimae paschali laudes" "Victimae paschali laudes" is a sequence prescribed for the Roman Catholic Mass and liturgical Protestant Eucharists of Easter Sunday. The modes of major- and minor keys are directly compared with each other. You can even discover catchy melodies and clear harmonies rich in colour. The motive B.A.C.H. ist to be heard again and again. Complicated rhythms generate wide musical phrases and lets the audience make standing ovations! At the end of the organ score the words by Augustinus, a philosopher and bishop of Hippo Regius in the 4th and 5th century are added at the end of the organ score: "O man, learn to dance, otherwise the angels do not know what to do with you as soon as you are in heaven." "DANCE OF THE ANGELS" a contemporary virtuoso organ piece is suited very well for concert, check and liturgy (Easter).
